The Mission Call

The Mission Call

Ty received his mission call a few days prior to when he actually opened it. He wanted to wait for his dad to be in town, so we planned a fun family weekend getaway to Pine Valley Mountain. We rented a cabin for a three-day weekend, and he opened it on Saturday, August 3, 2019. We also celebrated Carter's 22nd birthday that weekend.  We really had an awesome time, and the pinnacle of course was Ty opening his call in front of family and friends and learning he would be serving in the Peru, Lima South Mission. He was excited, but a bit overwhelmed. I don't think he ever thought he would serve a Spanish speaking mission. Interestingly, this is the very same mission his cousin Elijah Luke Milne served in exactly 20 years ago. Ty would not be leaving until December 18th, so our next task was to get him enrolled (last minute) at Dixie State University, since he had over four months before he would leave.
